Air Force Command Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter Regarding the Media Coverage of “New Radar System of F-16V Requires Replacement Due to Incompatibility, Budget of Military Sale May Soar to $140 Billion.”

Regarding the media coverage of “New Radar System of F-16V Requires Replacement Due to Incompatibility, Budget of Military Sale May Soar to $140 Billion”, the Air Force Command Headquarters has stated today (20th) that its “Phoenix Project” has replaced new AESA radars, and the various functions have matched the combat requirements of the Air Force, though the integration with other systems still require constant testing, evaluation, analysis, improvement, and verification in order to achieve the expected results. Various obstacles and issues during the reforming phase of this project will be discussed and solved by the project meeting to ensure that the elevation mission can complete on time, and the relevant coverage on extra budget is indeed a misinterpretation.

The Air Force Command Headquarters further stated that the “$140 Billion Budget” mentioned in the relevant media coverage refers to the budget required for the additional original items for the “Phoenix Project”, which has no correlation to the “Incompatible Radar System Requires Replacement” from the media coverage. The Air Force Command Headquarters hereby requests all media to verify all resources before conducting coverages to refrain from causing confusions and misunderstanding.
